Sycamore Class (2024-2025)

Sycamore Class 2024-2025

Welcome to Sycamore, 2024-25!

What an amazing start to the term we have had!  We are all working very hard with our teachers each morning, and we enjoy joining together each afternoon.

Please check our class page, together with our Dojo posts, to see what we have been enjoying in class.

In DT, Sycamore have learned about the journey our ingredients take from the farm to the fork. They have used lots of different cooking skills including chopping, peeling and using the hob to make their own delicious bolognese sauce!
We had an amazing visit to the Cheltenham Literature Festival. We were lucky enough to enjoy an inspiring visit by author, Hannah Gold. The children then worked in groups to complete a code breaker challenge and then all added their own touch to a collaborative piece of artwork!
The children learned some choreography in a street dance workshop. By the end, everyone was remembering the sequence of moves and showing a good understanding of timing and rhythm!
We have been completing the OAK (One Act of Kindness) Challenge in PSHE. As our act of kindness, we voted to make bird feeders. We used lard, seed, pine cones and twine to create our bird feeders. We hope they are enjoyed not only by the birds, but also by the people who get to enjoy seeing more wildlife in our local area!
We enjoyed learning about and celebrating Diwali. The children designed and decorated rangoli patterns!
In French, we have been learning about Food. The children designed their own French menus including starters, mains and desserts.
