Welcome to Ellwood Community Primary School
The school is located in Ellwood Village, a few minutes from Coleford. We are very lucky to have a lovely natural setting surrounded by lots of trees and open spaces. Our school grounds are stunning and we have a lovely field, outdoor equipment, pond area, garden area and a log circle which is all located in the school grounds. We also take part regularly in Forest Adventures in the school grounds and the local woods, which helps to extend the pupil's learning opportunities and fosters an appreciation and understanding of the local area. The Forestry Commission-owned field adjoining the car park can be used as a football pitch and for other outside sports.
The school offers a range of extra activities outside of the normal school day including football, multi sports, board games, biking, choir, netball, dance, phonics club, booster club, gymnastic, games club, art, pottery club and gardening club to name but a few!
The standards across the school are good and the children are fortunate to be taught in small discrete year groups in the mornings for the core subjects. This enables them to receive a higher ratio of adult support.
Staff and parents work together to provide a variety of events and activities which help raise additional funds for the school.
